God has set apart a day of rest to remind us of how important it is to take time from our daily work, and to rest.  We recognize the importance of these times of rest and the benefits of recreation time.  Our Leisure Ministries department provides our membership with many opportunities to share in Christian Recreation.

We participate in many church and county recreational sports leagues.  We have teams for Men's Softball, Women's Softball, and Co-ed Softball for both spring and fall leagues.  We also field teams for Basketball, and Volleyball.  All of our teams have been very successful in using competitive sports to reach our community with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.  First and foremost, our teams represent our church and our savior.  Then we make sure that we have fun, and sometimes have been known to win a trophy or two to put in the trophy case.  We are very blessed to be able to sponsor many event right in our own Christian Education and Activities Center.  The gymnasium is open many hours throughout the week for indoor sports and for walking in a climate controlled environment.

Our Leisure ministries represent more than just sports, and we provide leisure activities throughout the year for all ages.  The most anticipated activity is the annual River Rafting Trip.  Other activities include Retreats for all ages, church outings, and much more. 

 In 2007 we added the Upwards Basketball and Upwards Cheerleading to our recreation schedule.  Both programs were very successful in reaching our community for Christ.  We will be continuing with this great Christian Based Sports Program for children ages 5 - 11 years.
