Youth Retreat to St. Simons

The youth group raised enough money to take a great retreat down to St. Simons Island, Georgia.  This is the home of many historic places related to the United Methodist Church.  John Wesley did mission work at and from Fort Frederica.  At Fort Frederica he and his brother served as ministers to the colonists and soldiers that lived in the fort.  He also took the message to the Native Americans that inhabited the island.  The UMC South Georgia Conference offices are on the island at Epworth by the Sea.  Epworth was where the youth took on the ROPES courses and learned the importance of teamwork.  Except for the exploding toilet....this was a super retreat.
